For the past 3 years I would start the new year with a New Years Day design...it's become traditional for me to have it all kitted up and ready to go - at the strike of midnight I put in a few stitches, go to sleep and spend my day on the 1st stitching away in the peace and comfort of my home.

Here's the reason behind my post today!

I feel like I had a very accomplished stitching year - with a toddler, working, home life, commuting, etc etc - I completed more designs than I ever thought possible!  I don't think I could have done it without the inspiration from so many stitchers online!

I want to contribute a little to the stitching community of message boards  and blogs and offer the following contest:


New Year SAL contest!

Pick a New Years themed design and stitch it starting on 01/01/08 - anytime after midnight.  
Post your finishes on your blog or photo album and email me a link so I can post to my blog (I'll create a link in the sidebar and a special folder in Picturetrail where all photos will be displayed)...if you don't have a blog/album no worries just email me a photo to post in the main contest area on PT.

Deadline will be 01/31/08 to get your photos to me.

Poll will be set up for the general stitching public to vote for appx 2 weeks.

There will be a 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winner....all receiving prizes!!!!
1st - GC to your favorite online LNS worth $ 100
2nd - GC to your favorite online LNS worth $ 50
3rd - GC to your favorite online LNS worth $25

While the piece doesn't have to be finished, it may be nicer to have it finished into something to get some extra votes...just a thought!
